We've just had the play-off weekend in the UK Ice Hockey calendar. The event was hosted at the fantastic National Ice Centre in Nottingham (my home rink, so maybe I'm a bit biased...). I was lucky enough to have some excellent seats for the final (between Belfast and Cardiff) and managed to get some (in my opinion) nice shots. Comments welcomed and thanks for looking.

While the colors and exposure look good there is a bit too much motion blur. I think you could have bumped up the ISO from 800 to 1600, this would have increased the shutter speed.

Thanks for the comments. I was a bit concerned with the shutter speed (I think it was 1/250) but I wasn't sure if the noise from going so high would be a problem. Some of the other shots seemed to be fine with the lower shutter speed (I guess they just weren't moving as fast). Perhaps I'll have to save up for a 70-200 2.8 !

I would rather have a bit grainy picture then some motion blur. Try some different settings and see what looks best to you.
    Good Luck
