As most of you know, I tend to eschew techie stuff - but it's worth noting that the image above was shot with an old Zuiko 55 1.2 ( think 110 f 1.2) mounted on the micro 4/3 Panasonic GF1, manually focused.
The image below, which I only offer because for a brief period yesterday and today it went from being early April in Boston to being late June, was shot using autofocus with the 20 1.7 (40 1.7) on the Panasonic.

And then back to late March today :nah.
I was going to ask if the first shot was taken in Boston til I read the comments. I recognized that map haha.

Using photography to pay for engineering school is a bad business plan.
Thanks, Greg - Boston - well, Brookline, literally on the Boston line, and Cambridge.

The second is a flower shot, beautiful and easy. We all have lots of them, I expect.
Both of these show off the limits of the m 4/3 sensor size with a wide open very fast lens. You'd get much shallower DOF on a full frame, but this is still darned good.
How do you focus so accurately manually? On the screen? By just guessing the distance and setting it?
