How can I use my speedlights with my strobes?

I am just making the move from sports photographer to portrait photog. I have a 2 Profoto D1 500's Air's. So, I don't use pocketwizards. They have a remote that attaches to my hotshoe that triggers the strobes.

I'm wanting to use my SB-900 with them as well for either a hair light or background light. How do I go about doing this?
TIA

does your speedlight have an optical slave mode? that would work by having your strobes trigger the speedlight.

Canon 7D and some stuff that sticks on the end of it.

Sure does. I didn't realize that my strobes could trigger my speedlight. I'll definately give that a try. Thanks

Yep any flash that has an optical strobe can be activated by any other flash.....including but not limited to: photo flashes, lightning, the pulse from mercury vapor lamps when first turned on..............

Just remember that you need to meter those SB900 and shoot them in manual mode ..........I mix flashes a lot.....White Lightnings, Sunpak 622 and Vivatar 285Hv (well the last of my 285's went to big studio in the sky not long ago) and the Sb900's ............
