The first two do absolutely nothing for me- don't move me at all. The last two are good, I think, but peering around that giant bullseye dead center watermark is annoying. Really, really, annoying. Perhaps it would be ebtter to use low rez images, or a discrete watermark, if you are worried about security.
I took a look at the blog post. I really prefer a lot of the images there to the first two. Some of them look really great.
Sorry about the watermarks but can't do without - I guaranteed news-pictures.com 2 months exclusivity on this shoot and can't have the images floating about cyberspace or elsewhere.
Nir, I can only quote Rutt -
"These are so great, and the watermark is so terrible. I understand wanting to protect the images, but you do your photography a real disservice posting images this way - it's like a beautiful movie star deciding to tattoo a skull and cross bones in vermilion on her cheek.
But again, these are exceptionally powerful images - especially three and four.
Well if you are trying to elicit emotions--#3 and #4, but specially #4.
I feel like a momma bear when I see that shot, it makes me want to wrap my arms around the child.
#3 does not provoke such a strong emotion, but it makes me appreciate the attitudes of the young in dealing with conflict.
Well, what are they doing here and on your blog, then?
Actually, I don't think that's any of our business.
I dislike big watermarks as much as the next guy but I think we need to respect the business decisions people make. It may be contractual or simply bad experiences with having images stolen. Personally, I would rather see pics professionally printed and mounted, but I can still appreciate a good shot even if it is watermarked and on a less than terrific computer display.
