Arlington National Cemetery (IR)

Stopped by Arlington National Cemetery yesterday. Such a humbling place. Why do so many people have to act disrespectful and treat it as just another tourist attraction and not the hallowed grounds that it is? I always come away with ill feelings toward those that visit our nation's capitol. (Not everyone, but enough to make it unpleasant.) Sorry for ranting. Just needed to release and let it out.

Thanks for looking.

I know excatly how you feel, I live not far from Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery some people just don't get it.

Your picture is interesting, it looks like the trees are in bloom and there's snow on the ground. One of my favorite pictures of JB is some deer fawns playing amoungest the head stones.

    Howdy Kevin,

Beautiful shot and processing, really love those striking blues against the clean white of the grass.

I guess as being one of those Tourists, it is one of the top places to visit, but being Reverent and Respectful as you say to Honor the Fallen and Those Who Served, is the most important thing to remember when Visiting.
    Take care,

Thanks for the comments guys! I agree with you Craig that Arlington is a place that everyone should (needs to) visit if they are here in town. It's just that some (a few) treat it almost as if it is an amusement park. Anywhere else in town it doesn't bother me because I do the same thing when I visit someplace that I haven't been to before myself. Like I said before, I just needed to get it out of my system and everything is back to normal again. (Well, as normal I get.)
    Thanks again,

Very nice composition. I like how the lines of tombstones lead my eyes to the background. Good colors of sky and vegetation.
