Check out my suggestion on uservoice.

How about a generic "single photo" package, that can live at the top of the regular price list.
No need to have an interface to select other galleries, not what this is intended to accomplish.
The "single photo" package could be named and saved in a list for use on any gallery. No need to make custom packages that are by nature generic.
This would be fast and convenient! Thanks for considering

Unless I have mis-read your suggestion, can't we build our own single photo packages within the new package helper? It would still be just a single click when you click under the "Buy" tab.

We have to define each package from scratch, assign a target gallery, create a unique name and save.
Then go back to the target galley, go to set prices, select packages, select the specific package just defined.
So you can see there are many steps to add the package to a specific gallery.
Plus, in the package helper, I don't see a method to use an existing package to create a new one.
This would help some.
But I think a generic "single photo" package, that could be used universally and automatically work with the target gallery, would be very productive. This package could be similar to a product type that is selected from the list of print options.
Having many custom options is great if you need it, but sometimes simple is better.
I know it is probably a significant programming task to do this, but I believe is well worth the effort.
