definately #1! It has more to look at and gives a hint of flowers behind it. What did you shoot through?

modified vaseline smearing, I was using my old 18-55mm kit lens from my D50 but it is only a 52mm filter size. My Sigma 17-70mm has a 72mm filter you get more area to play with. I really am missing my 17-55mm f2.8 which is in for repair after a bag drop, 77mm filter size. Going to try it in Bay Area(SanFran) again tomorrow from the Skyline Drive
This one has more flower in the middle

    Looks pretty cool...almost LSD inducedmwink.gifmwink.gifmwink.gifrolleyes1.gifrofl

I could make your life so much easier if I would put my center sharp filters up for sale.....I bought a ton of these jewels back in the film days and shot portraits, wedding and concerts with them.......I hated having to clean the vaseline off that clear filter for different effects....I even did one with a crystalizing paint......a lot of people used the paint for painting the backside of aquariums for a snowflake effect.....I used a dime of nickel for my clear center spot....

I really like the abstract painting effect. LSD well no comment on that.:D Unless I was having flashbacks
I have been hitting the camera shops and going through their old filter boxes.

    Hi Chris,
The one that works for me is the one with the flowers in focus, you can see the effects of the smearing better in that one IMO.

Nice job experimenting. You posted San Fran smeared yesterday too no? I liked that one as well.

I like #1 and the most recent one the best. Depends on how much of the flowers you want in focus. The last has some major "Wow factor", but #1 is beautiful and you can see the flowers.

My favorites are #3 and #5 in that order, but I think that for this challenge #1 is the strongest. Hmmm....what to do.ne_nau.gif
