I braved the high temperatures and humidity to take in a little of the Georgia State Criterium Championships this morning. I figured if they could ride bikes in it, I could press the shutter in it.

I know from experience that bike races are hard to shoot. I #1 and #2. Bravo.
    If not now, when?

    Who won? :D

Georgia State Crit has produced some big names in cycling. I'm not following USA cycling as closely as I usually do this year, but any big names show up?

Good shots, bike racing is indeed hard. The place to be is on the back of that motor-official's BMW naughty.gif

    Definitely nod.gif

I've done it once, but I was the guy behind the handlebars, not behind the camera. It was a good time to zip around the race, and the photog said they were the best racing shots he's ever gotten.

I checked it out once. The marshall I was riding kept fidgeting on the back.
Enough that I had to tell him if he didn't stop fighting the bike, we were
    going to wreck rolleyes1.gif

Talk about primo access. Back of the bike or a team car's gotta be it.

I know too many USCF officials and there isn't enough money in the world to convince me to let one of them generally overweight hyperactive ex-racers on the back of my moto. They're the worst, still think they're racers at heart, and whistle and run around like they own the world. Sheesh.

The photog I worked with was a good friend and motorcyclist as well. Even though he's bigger than me (over 6' and 200lbs) we had no problem at all. It helps that the GS is the hummer of bikes, but still, it was like dancing, we knew what to expect from each other.
