Just bought my house and have yet to make my 1st payment on it. Had a severe storm this afternoon (60 mph winds) and it blew down the only big tree I had. :bash
50 foot Silver Maple tree that was about as old as my house (1941)
Had a slew of birds coming to my feeders in it and everything.
(Do still have my Hummingbird feeder hanging off the porch)
UGGGG how depressing!:rolleyes Was looking forward to some photo op's.
Good news is all that was damaged is the tree...not my house or the neighbors.
Oh well guess I'll be planting another 1-2 trees to replace it.
Really liked watching the feeders from the back porch.....<<<SIGH>>>>

I am sorry about your tree. You are lucky not to be hurt, but at the same time re the house, it is probably insured, could be fixed, trees aren't/can't. Some people were more upset in Charleston about the damage to the trees than they were the damage to their homes: in the 1989 hurricane Hugo.
Sorry,
ginger
We lost our only backyard tree late last year, a 70+ yr. old willow, which couldn't help but crush my GMC Safari in the process.
Replant when you can, and take a small section out of the old tree as a rememberence. The birds will forgive Mother Nature.
