Nice start, you need to crop in tighter, #1 recrop, #2 is too late, #3 recrop, #4 I see what you were after but with that background and stuff it doesn't quite work, your baseball - take them all to landscape, portriat is has too much dead space above. Unless your stuff is really good or you ask specific questions you don't get much feedback in here. Keep it up, everytime out will get better.

    Thanks!

I shot both in portrait and landscape. I like the portraits, but also I know I didn't crop in enough. Thanks for the response, but sadly it does seem people don't comment a lot. :(

Good start. I agree with the comments about cropping (and shooting) tighter and a couple seem a touch underexposed. Also, watch your horizons, a few had some tilt to them. (I say this fully admitting that I just shot my first game of the year and was horrified to see that I had horizon problems on almost every photo - just goes to show photographers need consistent practice too, since I hadn't shot since last year).

    Again - good start.

In addition to the other comments:

many of these are too oversaturated for my tastes - the blues, reds and grass just look too unnatural. So tone down that saturation.

You've got some nice ideas and decent timing. Besides the loose framing, the backgrounds are the biggest issue - too distracting. Fences, cars, bleachers are distracting. So you need to decrease your dof as much as possible. If 300mm is your longest lens, leave it at 300mm and f5.6. As I said, some nice ideas here but those backgrounds really hurt them.

I guess I shouldn't shoot in vivid! Lol I didn't touch the saturation in PP, but I'll note that for next time thumb.gif

and I just noticed the horizon lines! thanks for that!
