Hi, im looking at the Cokin P series of mounts and filters for my D90 and nikkor 18-105mm lens, the site says the p series is for larger than 20mm lenses in 35mm format??, so will i have vignetting problems @ 18mm with this setup?? does anyone have experience with the P or larger Z-PRO filters??

An 18mm lens, used on a crop 1.5x camera like the Nikon D90, has a similar field-of-view/angle-of-view to a 27mm lens on a FF 35mm format camera. Since they suggest the use of the "P" series filters for a 20mm lens (or longer) on FF, you should be fine as long as you mount the filter holder directly onto the host lens. If you use multiple adapters to mount the filter holder I suppose you could run into minor vignetting in some instances.

I have the Canon 20d and a few years ago bought a system to fit the z-pro. I think the reason I went z-pro was because I had a 10-22mm lens and that is what was recommended by the folks at 2filter.com (http://www.2filter.com/index.htm). I bought it with Hitech solid NDs and graduated, a 2 stop (.6) and 3 stop (.9) in each. I did not bother wth the 1 stop because from what I had read, if you shoot raw, you really don't need it. I went with Hitech because from what I had read, the cokin filters are not all that neutral and the Lee were more expensive (and I think made from glass so you have to be careful with handling although the Hitech and Cokin are plastic and subject to scratches).

I suggest you call 2filter.com, look for the phone number on their site. I have always found them to be very helpful and their prices are excellent. Tell them what kind of lenses you have; they will steer you in the rigt direction. And if you have thoughts of purchasing a wide angle lens let them know because that could make the difference between the p or z-pro system.

And by the way, one of the best things I have found to hold the filters is a cd/dvd wallet.
