Life is coming up roses...

I did an interview this morning with a local florist for the local newspaper (I'm a freelance writer and photographer) and, of course, took his picture. We had a wonderful time and this elderly gentleman is charming to a fault. As I was leaving he presented me with a small bouquet of long stemmed red roses. How sweet is that? Of course, I HAD to take photos of them, right?

Suggestions gratefully accepted.

#1. Bounced flash used.

2. Window light, no flash.

3. Flash bounced toward flowers.

    Howdy,

Really great story, and that was very kind and nice of the Gentleman to honor you with the Roses.

Not a fan of Copyrights especially when they cover up the nice images.
    Take care,

Thanks Craig. He was a sweetheart.

I hear you about the logo. Normally I try and load photos for DGrin into a separate album but ran out of time yesterday so just linked to my public album where all images are protected.

Enjoyed your story also. Wonderful to have experiences like that. thumb.gif

For me, the lighting methods used in each case have good quality
values for each. Image 1 has nice balance for background and
foreground features set together. But the DOF has left the leading
front edge of the rose OOF. For me this doesn't work so well.
Call it personal taste. I think the whole rose bud should be in focus.
Give images 2 & 3 the same kind of nice balance image 1 has with
its background arrangement. Find a DOF that keeps the roses all in
    focus.
    Beautiful Roses. :D:D:D
I'd keep the watermark even though one really doesn't like to see
    past it.

Three great photos! There's some really nice people out there. Glad you met one.

I like the composition in number three. But they all catch my eye.

:D Seems I missed saying that I also thought the compositions in all three
were very thoughtful and well done. I especially like the triple roses in
photo 3 and the of course the single rose in photo 1. :D
