Hi everyone,

I am now the proud owner of a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and can't wait to give it a road test at the weekend! I'm particularly looking forward to playing with the DoF potential but also finding out what it can do when taking photos of my kids playing.

I was hoping some of you would be happy to share your photos taken with this lens (or equivalent) to give me some ideas of what I might try out at the weekend:D

Anyone out there happy to share?
More practice needed but learning all the time!:rofl

Nikon D50, 18mm-55mm, 55mm-200mm, 50mm f/1.8, SB800, LowePro Slingshot 200AW and other bits!

Very nice! clap.gif Can't quite get my head around how you've achieved the reflection in the foreground but really like this. Thanks for sharing:)

I laid the camera on the sand and took the shot as the water was going back out.

That makes sense - so the reflection in the foreground is off the water on the sand? Sounds risky!!

Love the lego ones too. Have seen the flower one posted elsewhere before but hadn't realised how it had been taken. Great fun!

    Thanks again for sharing:)

Thanks for sharing these - I'll search for the previous thread too. Now I have more control over DoF (could previously only go to f/3.5 at best) I'm really hoping to play around with this in the way you have created the effect in the first pic:)

    Thanks again.
