When I first saw one of these about a year ago, I was surprised, and told myself it looked like a "fog bow," thinking I was making it up. When I got home, and looked on Wikipedia, I learned it is a real phenomenon.
It's just like rainbows, only the droplet size is so much smaller with fog (compared to rain), that there is no color is diffracted through them.
