with my 70-300mm do is. If this is what being close gets you, then I may have finally succumbed to the lens lust that andy insisted was coming after I bought my digital slr. Choices, choices...do I feed the kids this week, or contemplate 400mm lenses?

Regards...Keith

Caught yourself some nice night herons there. I see the black cap NH ...nightly. :): They are always out in the backyard. They seem real friendly and will approach you for food. ne_nau.gif

    well, for me...
they are still a bit of a novelty (you gotta go out and find em up here in suburban New York.:):

Still, this bird stuff can be quite addictive. Now, about that long lens....

    Hey Keith,

Nice shots. Tell the kids that this 3 meal a day stuff is just propaganda from the food industry. Get the 400mm and then start saving your $ for the 500. If the kids want more food they can always get a paper route. rolleyes1.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hey Keith,

Don't listen to these machinegunnin' lens envy dogs. You DON'T NEED A LONG LENS. It's just a rumor... an urban legend. It's all about the action. All you need is a little itty bitty 200mm with good glass in it.....and a sexy voice to talk sweet to the birds. It works every time. Tell 'em you love 'em....and respect them. Offer up rewards and draw them close. Then shoot..shoot..shoot 'em. :D

    Cheers
