First time shooting bugs: Dung Fly

So, I decided I would shoot some bugs after being inspired by some of the great shots here. I happened upon a bug (I later learned it was a Dung Fly) and spent some time with it.






Then there was this bug that landed on my leg, I couldn't figure out what it was...



How'd I do?

good first shots, compositions are good, like #1 best
shot in full sun ? light quite harsh
no idea on last frame beetle

I want to get out when the light isn't as harsh. This was midday.

Funny you mention sharpness, these are darn close to 100% crops and surprisingly they still work. I was shooting with a EF-S 55-250mm lens.

I think that last frame is of a lightening bug, although I've only seen them at night so I'm not sure.

Ya, I looked that up, but it is different. Maybe it is just an odd variant, but I think it is something else.
