Outside. The guy is singing to get some $$. I bought a newspaper from him and gave him a dollar:

She tried very hard to ignore him:

I like the first two, but they lack eye contact. Still nice captures.

Personally, I don't mind the lack of eye contact in street photo, I really don't think its needed. I specially like the first of the first post, the second one is also very good in my opinion. Of the second post I really don't like any, not that they are bad, but once you try to get eye contact with a subject and establish it, 90% of the people will act un naturally in front of a camera, that takes the moment away.

    Thanks for sharing.

#4 of the first set caught me. The couple look like they're boarding a space ship - Encounters of the Third Kind.

The photos of the news guy are underexposed on my monitor. I can't make out his facial features at all. Compositionally they look interesting.

    Hi Richard
I like #1 and #2 on your first post---I like the feel of the busy street and the guy trying very hard to get some tips and the reactions or lack of reactions to him. Nice captures.
I also like #4 "the light fantastic", awesome shot--did you use a tripod? I only ask because when I try shots like this hand held, they never look like this! Nicely done.

Not crazy about the "eye contact" shots.

Patti, do you have a calibrated monitor? and are you using PC or Mac?

    Thanks.

I think the wide-angle distortion is a bit much on the shots with the singer. I think of street photography and PJ as looking realistic, and wide-angle distortion detracts from that.

The lack of eye contact doesn't bother me at all, though. Eye contact says as much by its absence as by its presence when you know two people are aware of each other. The Asian girl's obvious avoidance of the singer is part of the point.
