I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with a caregiver and his rescued eagle recently.

Here is one of my shots. I could not upload more than one image, and I did not want to flood the thread with multiple, single-image posts.

I am new to this thread, and rarely post my shots on any thread, so I am not sure if the file size is correct. However, I could not get any other size to be accepted by the upload program. The original RAW file was 17KB, reducing the file to fit here takes something away. Any suggestions on better file size reduction techniques are always welcomed.

Your C&C of the attached shot welcomed too.

In advance, thanks.

Hi there! Stunning animal, there. Do you know the eagle's story (why it was rescued)?

As to uploading photos, if you have your photos hosted on a site, like smugmug or flickr, you should be able to put the image's link in between img tags. Then you don't have to worry about uploading a small file size as an attachment. Hope that makes sense...

If that's not an option, some photo editing softwares have a "save for web" option that will usually compress the file enough for uploading on most sites.

    Back story
    Hi Jen:

The eagle was found wounded (presumably it had been shot) and taken to the raptor rehabilitation center near where I live. I had the opportunity to attend a "re-training flight" and was able to get some pretty cool shots.

    I have attached another here.

Thanks for your comments and advice. I tried saving the image for web and email thus reducing an original 15KB image down to < 100KB posted here.

The problem was that I received a message once I had posted a single image that stated "You have uploaded the maximum of 1 files."

I tried to attach another image and I was prevented from doing so - alas only one image was posted.

Hope you like this one and the next to be posted via a separate post.

    Thanks again for your comments.

Truly a beautiful bird and so sad that someone shot it. :cry

Glad save for web worked for you.

Do you have your photos hosted on a site such as smugmug, photobucket, or flickr?

If so, take the images link location (right-click on the image and "copy image location" if you're on a pc) and put it in between image tags in your post.

    For example:

Example of the link in here

Just don't put any spaces between the img tag and the link like I did in the example. Hope this helps.

since they are hosted on smugmug...posting is extremely simple.....aove the posting box is a very small tool bar that has all your fonts, sizes smilie (part of the top row...) below this row is the bold, italics, underline, the 3 justifications.....come on across to the yellow picture frame with the mountain in it..clik it....add address of the image from smuggy gallery....clik Ok and image should appear in box.....
