Trying to determine if this shot looks better in color or B&W. Any opinions?

I like the color ones. The black and white almost look like he was cloned in for some reason and the sky looks kind of flat.

I like #1 the most, but #4 is close. I think the body bones are lost (blown) in #4, but the sky has a nice quality. Contrail scar and all

Keep experimenting and don't forget, the pioneers get most of the arrows...:giggle

    Nice capture

All of the pictures appear to be badly over-sharpened; I see very obvious halos. I think this is why Macushla said the skater looks "cloned in." For some reason the haloing becomes more obvious in B&W, but I think the problem is the sharpening, not the B&W conversion.

I don't particularly like these shots in B&W, but I suspect the conversion could be done better. The tones don't seem well balanced; the black pads and board stand out too much, and the wall, his skin, and the sky aren't well differentiated. In color, of course, this isn't a problem.

Thanks for the CC it's always appreciated. I suspect it's the BW conversion that I used. I was toying with an IR conversion, that may be the issue with the oversharpened look in the BW. I will look at these again and see if a regular conversion causes the same issues.
