Some bees and hovers

Some bee and hoverfly shots from the garden. Not sure if it's significant but some of the Syrphid hoverflies were a bit on the small side- only around 8mm body length.

Thanks Phil - I would say yes - most of the Syrphus ribesii looking types are normally around 12mm so 2 of the 3 I shot looked a bit undersized. Just wondering if there is a lack of food for the larvae as I haven't yet seen any aphids.
