Album Organization

Hi there! I wanted to send out a question to frequent Smugmug users. I'm still considering the program and I ran into an issue I can't seem to find answers to, so I figured I'd start here.

Let's say I have a Gallery Category with 50 albums. When I pull up the list of albums, it shows me albums 1-10 on Page 1 and then 11-20 on page 2 and so on until you reach #50. Now I know you can arrange the albums on whatever page you're viewing but what if I wanted to bring album #50 and move it to the #1 slot. When I was testing out the program I didn't see where that was possible. As I'll have around 25,000 personal photos to bring over, being able to organize the albums is a big deal for me.

Anyone run into this issue? Am I just missing the place where its possible to view all your albums and organize them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

What level account do you have? Got a link to your site?
I have no idea what you are describing. With lots of galleries I would
organize everything by category and under each category use
sub-categories and place the galleries in the sub-cats.

Something like this.
category sub-cat
Nature
Animals
Flowers
Birds
Family
2010
2009
Travel
USA
Europe

I don't have an account yet, I'm hesitant to get one until I know I can organize my albums the way I want them.

Hmm, let me see if I can explain it better.

Gallery>Category>Albums

Let's say I have all my Walt Disney World albums in one category FL>Walt Disney World and I have 50 albums, how do move the 50th album into the 1st album spot. Not move the photos, but organize the albums in a certain order.

Is that a little better? This is difficult to convey. Laughing.gif

I'll try a date scenario as well.

Let's say I visit Epcot 50 times and I have an album for each date that I visit. If I upload all 50 albums and the most recent date is at the end and I'd rather have it featured first, how do I move it from the back to the front when the album list only shows a certain # of albums per page?

Every cat and and sub-cat page can be arranged individually anyway you
want. By title, by date created, ...., ascending or descending or manually ...
