Very nice series of images, Dan. I really like your shot of the Artists Palette too.

I feel like I was with you in Death Valley.

I know how you feel about compliments, but I feel bad that I missed this. Even though I've seen your harvest from this trip, looking at them never gets old. You're incredible in what you see in the world around you! :D

Your critique always weighs heavy with me. Thank you for the complimentsiloveyou.gif

You know Marc, you're to blame for this. If it wasn't for your incredible workshops, I would still be shooting with the super telephoto on every shot. Thank you for teaching me how to shoot out of my comfort zone to grasp different compositions and view scenery in ways I've never imagined bowdown.gif

I was born and raised in California and have never gone to Death Valley. I was one of those ignorant people that assumed that Death Valley was all sand dunes with no color and more importantly nothing exciting to take pictures of. Was I wrong, very wrong. My experience with Death Valley during this workshop has opened my eyes to brilliant colors and beauty that Death Valley has to offer. In the few days that I visited the Desert National Park, I only witnessed a fraction of what Death Valley has to offer.

Nice set Daniel - very nice!

    Nice one! clap.gif
Death valley is such a surprise. What a variety of landscapes!
What was the story with the large rock with the paths leading up to it? It looks as though it was kicked around when the ground was still muddy?ne_nau.gif

The wind blows in excess of 50MPH at times. The thought is that these winds in conjunction with the wet playa are how the rocks move. Some are obviously fake but the majority of rocks are moving with the wind/water thing.

Scientists have been tracking movement using GPS for some time using tile markers (although I'm not sure why they don't lose these markers in high winds :)).
