here are some of my initial sketches. i am shooting with my cell phone, and though its a good cam phone (droid 5mp), its clearly limited. so i'm looking at these as sketches. i want to come back to the same subject matter with a real macro lens (hopefully a nikon 105 2.8, if i get it next week!).
c&c welcome on these. thanks! -mark;)

Of these, I like the second one best.
Until you get your dedicated macro and if you're getting antsy, you can flip a lens on top of the mounted one (front elememt to front element). They even make adapters that screw onto the filter threads to do that. Something I did before I got my first true macro.

I like the composition/colors of #2, and I like the texture of #4. Can't wait to see your reshoots.

I like #1 as an abstract but it needs something more for the composition...
- maybe a little changed angle, or light and shadow, or just clarity of texture - I cannot say for sure.
