Broke in the 300mm f2.8 for a few pitcher shots. I like the lens, not sure it's as lively as the 200mm f2 though.

    Any CC is always welcome.

The third baseman in #4 is standing flat-footed and has no chance of getting to a ball. :)

    Oh, great shots too.

Love #1. Is that a crop or did you get close enough for it?

it's not the size of the lens that matters... It's how you focus it.

I like #1. He looks like he's about to put a fastball straight down the barrel of your expensive telephoto lens.:D

#1 Pitchers make for some of the most interesting shots, especially if you can get close as you did here. In my baseball galleries I have one devoted exclusively to "Best Pitchers Faces." On this one, I'd try for a different angle where his body and arms are turned so you see a bit more of his face and his throwing hand and the ball are in the shot. The best facial expression is typically closest to the ball's release point. You can often also get arm tendons straining and clearly visible around the elbow. Quite dramatic.

#2 I'd tighten this up (crop) and center.

#3 Nicely cropped top and bottom. I'd leave more space in front of the pitcher which is the direction the picture takes you.

    #4 Very nice.

#5 Crop tighter top and bottom. After saving the full body shot, crop from knee up to get a nice close up of an interesting facial expression.

    #6 Crop off top.
