I was able to go to San Francisco this past weekend! As a beginner, it was amazing to see all the other photographers there. San Francisco is truly the place for motivation and art. C&C is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Honestly, you're so ahead of the curve if you are the beginner that you say you are! thumb.gif The only things that I really notice is that the shots could be sharper, and they are a bit noisy in the low light situations. But that is to be expected and softness can be caused by a number of things.

I don't see these shots and think amateur, but I love the carefree feeling I get when looking at the different subjects and perspectives. Great job.

Thanks Schmoo! I was hoping I'd get a reply from you. It's great to hear that you think I'm ahead. This was actually my very first time going to locations and shooting. I still don't know how to use PS though ne_nau.gif

Thanks, I think! rolleyes1.gif Honestly though, I'm a staunch believer in keeping your life (and workflow) as simple as you possibly can. Unless you're finding that you're not able to achieve your goal using the tools you're already using, why complicate things?

PS is a great tool, but there's so much of it that even regular don't use. But if you do want to learn you can always ask here or in the Finishing School forum. We've got more people willing to share advice than you can shake several sticks at!

Great colour in those sunset shots. What do you use to store them on your computer? If its iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac, you can use the Retouch tool to remove those blurry birds flying across the sky.

With the black and white bridge shot, it looks like your focus was out a little. Unless of course you were trying to focus on the left end of the bridge. Focusing is always difficult when shooting in the dark. I know as a beginner, it can be hard to remember to check these things, but it will eventually become standard.

But good work for a first shoot!! thumb.gif

Thanks Schmoo! I think PS would help convey the emotion that I'm going for in each picture. And as for storing my pictures, I'm about to get a Macbook Pro! Right now I'm using a cruddy PC. In order to retouch these pictures, I used the software that came with my Canon. Digital Photo Professional. Once I get my Macbook, I intend on getting Aperture 3 though.
