You two passed within 7 miles of my house and didn't stop or even call!

    I'm gonna eat some worms!

Great journey thread in your unique literary and photographic style Schmoo!

Actually yeah we did! The commute from SF down to SmugMug HQ was a bit much, and I needed to be here more than just 1-2x a week.

Ooooh, good Korean places around? I've found one good jajangmyun place up in SF (on Geary) but haven't explored any in the south bay. Definitely drop me a note and hook a sistah up! lol3.gif

I've always thought there were a lot of Dgrinners in the area, but scarcely a time (apart from the 5-year party over a year ago) when we've gotten together. lol3.gif

Ian I'd be shocked if you said you'd never done this yourself!

What I should have said was it's a wonderful way to see the country.

I've done the SF -> CHI trip in winter, CO in the summer and several other longer trips. It's awesome!

Great photo essay and wonderful intro!

I moved from TX to CA a couple decades ago to take a new job. The pictures were took are pre-digital and "somewhere in a box". Your story brought back lots of memories.

I haven't seen anybody say this yet so, Welcome to California! And, Welcome to Silicon Valley! :D

I was thinking about that last night after finding this thread. :D

We caught the last day of a hot air balloon festival in New Mexico (mass assent happens on the last day) and had a very brief trip to the top of the Grand Canyon. Nothing else scenic along the way though and my abilities with a camera back then were REALLY bad. rolleyes1.gif

If I can find 'em, I'll scan 'em.

A wonderful record of what looks like a dream, but emotional, trip. As a "Brit" Route 66 is something we all want to do "one day". You have actually got out there...and done it!!
