Trying a different slant on butterflies. Any opinions?

I really like your concept, butterfly abstract. I do find that the lower part of image is a bit distracting though.

Thanks Wendell, I agree. The texture in the dirt is nice, but too much against the wings.

At first glance, my eyes get confused about where to look - there are a lot of colors that compete for attention and there are spots where the focus is clearer, bringing the eye in that direction. At closer inspection I think it's a cool shot, but I would make the focus clearer on the actual butterfly while blurring the dirt a bit more.

    Any better with fake bokeh?

Yeah, I think theres potentials to play with. I like the in focus right lower
wing details for abstract values. Both wings in focus would be interesting
to see. Enough there in both wings for a pano abstract maybe. :D

Yup, I think that looks better.

Thanks for the input, fellas. I'll see if the subject is willing to do a reshoot this weekend.
