Here are a few shots from a fight that I had the opportunity to photograph a few weeks ago. The promoter wanted me to do some venue shots to show their setup and basically whatever else I wanted. I could do ringside but not up on top of the ring. That was reserved for another dude. Shooting through a chain link fence is really really hard. I found manual focus to be my friend at times. But overall I was impressed with the 300s's low light capability. So I took the time to do some more personal shots instead of the usual fight photos at the ring.
C&C more than welcome. Let me have it!
1. The Venue.

3. Fighters doing their thing
4 The trainers doing their thing
5. Getting taped up. It was amazing the time and care taken with this.
6. Ready to Rock

7. Warming up.
8. The gloves were softer than I thought, but I still would not want to get hit in the face with them!
shots 3,4 and 5 seem out of focus. ? maybe just my eyes, but that was my first thoughts. I understand it is hard to shoot thru the fence, and not having done it yet, I can only imagine....
I am assuming you used a slower shutter speed to show movement in shots 6 & 7?
