I've been reading more and more articles that have a similar tone to them. There are no meaningful technical limitations left to capture high-quality images and share them with virtually unlimited audiences. For working PJs, all the low hanging fruit is gone. Additionally, it seems venues or avenues for paid documentary work has also disappeared with the "Information wants to be free" current form of the internet. What does boston.com get from having "The Big Picture?" Do they commission works?

Changes are coming that might open new avenues for professional PJs. But what we are doing as a hobby today was a profession not too long ago.

I think this book would make a great companion for "Bystander: A History of Street Photography"
