    Harry,
    Great series clap.gif .

I find #1 very moving, with the older gentleman explaining things to the younger woman with the backdrop of all the soldier's names.

I also like #4 as a portrait as well as your close up of the "agent orange" tshirt.

    Thank you for sharing.

You can imagine my surprise when I went down to the park and discovered that there were no birds around. Just a bunch a vets.

Yeah well I'd lay odds, you shake a few of them vets up and you can still get em to fly!

A really strong set. #1 is stellar and I also dig the reflection in the last capture. The portraits are strong. clap.gif

Great set! I especially like the third one. That guy must have some stories.

Very nice set; I find #3 - the portrait - particularly moving.
BTW - If you're vaguely inclined, and haven't read it, I am now about 2/3rds of the way through the new novel "Matterhorn," by Karl Marlantes, a much decorated Marine vet of Vietnam. Apparently he worked on it for 30 years, got it to 1,600 pages (!) then edited it down to about 600. It is absolutely breathtaking.

BD - I'm always interested in good military history books, so I am glad you posted about Matterhorn. I'll have to check into it.

Let me stress that I am not a vet - but I have read all the major fiction to come out of Vietnam, as well as allot of non-fiction about the war. That, and the photography of Larry Burrows, Henri Huet, Tim Page, et al, suggest to me that Marlantes nails the reality of the war from the Marine pov. I'd be interested in eventually hearing what you folks think of it.

I found the last as haunting as the first is moving. Each is moving in their own way.

    Thanks for your service Harry.

Knowing the context, #3 is really moving. His face still reflects the young man that must have seen so much.

Great set. I really enjoy the emotions in the 3rd and 4th photo. I've been blessed that I haven't personally experienced loss from war, but I can't go to the Vietnam memorial without getting all misty-eyed.

There are powerful emotions showing in the 3rd and 4th photos.
The last, the reflections, is simply haunting.
    Thank you for your service.
