This is an impromptu self-portrait that I took yesterday. I think it came out pretty well.

Looking closely, you can see the Nikon lens mounted on the Canon camera, and the seven-bladed aperture stopped down to f/2.8.

C&C appreciated.

    Nice colours…

    The hand's a bit blown-out…

…but everything is smack in the middle; in other words my eye goes straight to the "Canon" logo, and gets stuck there. headscratch.gif

The chain on the door frame, although out of focus, is still distracting…

I'd have tried to frame the picture a bit differently; and perhaps flipped it horizontally…

    Thanks for sharing

I notice my pictures always seem to get a little brighter when I upload them to SmugMug. The hand actually isn't blown out in the original, according to the flashing overexposure indicator in my RAW software.

Interesting about the logo; I find, looking at this shot, that my eye goes into the lens and then circles between it and the eye (which I tried to keep open while shooting, but I must have blinked just as I took the shot... pity).

    Thanks for your observations.
