Saturday Tease
Suprisingly, this one was pretty safe :-)
A few setup shots so you guys and gals can get a glimpse of the lighting setups, etc.
#1: My classic 5-light seltup for full height shots: 2 rims, 1 hair, 1 main and one key (the main and the key are not shown due to them being behind the camera)
#2: Paul C Buff 86" PLM mouned on AB800 and triggered with PW as a "single light source":
#3: Same PLM in a silhouette setup (I cranked the power down for the real thing):
Enjoy! Finals will follow! (some may go to GF still)

Grids (crates), while not perfect, limit the spill considerably, thus making it much closer to an often desired "window effect". In the real windows the glass panes do not EMIT the light, they simply let it through. Softboxes withough grids are simply light emitting rectangles, which are totally not window-like light sources.
Another reason - much less flare when they turned to camera at least somewhat (not directly, obviously).

Yeah, I'm envious. I can get a small box up for seated stuff (10' ceilings) but more often than not, I settle for a snooted light coming down from the back of set. It's just easier than re-riggin'.
Limitations, they suck.
