I dunno, sometimes I think my DOF is too narrow...hmmm. I try to shoot two stops back from wide open when I can. Not sure why but a pro told me to do that a long time ago.

Nice ones- great pose on the flower.
Flower colour is a bit overexposed in the first 2 shots. DOF looks fine for the subject.
Re the pros comment- most lenses are sharpest in the F5.6 to F8 range but it's common in macro when shooting near 1:1 to use F11/F13 and trade a bit of sharpness for DOF.
awww, s/he's a cutie. ditto what Brian said. At these magnifications, DoF is really narrow so closing down is often the only way to get the elements you want in focus without PP stacking. However, most macro lenses are engineered with this in mind and so the sacrifice of sharpness will be a small one.
