I would think that #2 and #3 could do well. After all, we are not only looking for macro shots but (I presume) for excellent pictures, and I like the composition on #2 especially. I've been off of DGrin for a few weeks, but will try to work on this challenge.

I'm definitely liking #2 the best with #3 a close second. Interesting patterns in #2 and find the composition and crop more pleasing than #1.
I think the last one is too obvious. (mushrooms growing on dead wood, right?)

Thanks Virginia, yeah, it is something growing on dead wood, mushrooms was my guess as well, but one of my friends thought maybe it was lichen... i just thought it was cool and liked the bright orange splotches.
