Good morning all,
My daughter turned three and I managed to get a nice candid of her (I think anyway).
Natural light from a window was used.
The one major nit I see is perhaps I chopped too much of her head off at the top? C&C much appreciated.

and b&w because I can't help it.

Keep it in color Liz. I know you like the desat, and I'm not sold on that look, but it works well here. You can just get lost in those deep dark eyes, and I love how the hair frames her from the right, and the blue/pink nail polish is just great! Many more happy birthdays!! Enjoy your three-year-old!

I love it, perfect crop ( nails) color! ( nails) Love the pose, hands and nails, lol. Also love the eye contact, a beautiful shot for down the road when it will be so hard to imagine exactly what she looked like at age 3. Just lovely.

    Hi there Andrew:)
    Thank you. Color it is.
I wish I had gotten more of her hair, it's down to her waist, but I'm still happy with it.

EDIT: Miss ya over on "street".

    Hi Trudy,
The nails and the "3" on the nails did it for me too :) it was just too sweet from a mom's point of view anyway.

Thank you and I'm glad you like it.

I havent' gotten the nerve to work with flash or anything yet---just available light, so glad this one was well received.

I know what you mean--I already can't believe she's three!
Someday she'll be 16 and locking me out of her room:cry .

But for now I'm thoroughly enjoying her, so thank you.

Beautiful photo, definitely in color!!wings.gif You definitely can't deny this one as a daughter. From your avatar, she has to be your twin when you were that age. Those eyes will be the subject of many stunning photos over the years. My oldest daughter turned 4 in March and the youngest turns 2 in June. And just like a couple of others have mentioned, it will amaze you how fast they grow up and change their looks, especially at this age. Again, beautiful picture and daughter!!!clap.gif

    Ditto....and...

I wouldnt stress about cropping the top of her head. Were it mine, Id consider doing it in a 4:5 (8x10) ratio and take a tad more from the top of her head. You will lose the hand, but the fingers will still be there. Its a lovely shot....beautiful girl!thumb.gif

    Thanks Jeff,

Nice to see you again :)

I'm still learning to crop--I usually don't crop enough.

    Thanks for the advise.
