Here is what I'm thinking for this challenge. This photo is an outside of the challenge time frame, but it's basically what I'd like to do. Any thoughts about how to improve it? I know the ISO could go down a bit, which would reduce that grainy-ness.

Thanks!

I think I'd get a little closer in and put the focus on the ratcheted part. Crop out the handle where the main focus is now. Kind of a circle fading in the distance effect. Does that make sense?

I think it is a very promising subject. thumb.gif

I agree with WhatSheSaw's cropping suggestion. Go for aethetically pleasing while leaving the viewer wondering (wth). Play with the contrast a bit to give it drama.

I think I know what you mean... I'll have to play around a little bit to see if I'm understanding you, though :)

I tried some shots this morning while there was light in the room from a couple different angles and of other parts of the machine... I've been working a lot recently and it's getting dark by the time I get home from work, put my stuff down, and get ready to eat something. Oy.

Anyway, thanks for the contrast suggestion, too... I'll work on that! thumb.gif
