I have an opportunity to get some of my photographs published in a local home town magazine. The town is about 100,000 folks. The magazine is just getting started so I'm not sure what the circulation will really be. I am doing this as a hobby only, but feel I need to charge them something. The publisher is the publisher of the local newspaper. Any ideas about what would be reasonable compensation and what it should be based on? I'm not really worried about making alot of money, but I feel that I shouldn't give it away as this detracts from the field of photography in general. Any suggestions? I will probably be able to be a regular contributor as the magazine is published every two months for now. I'm not shooting specific assignments, but can basically come up with my own ideas of Photo Essays I would like to do. Most of the pictures are stuff I would be doing anyways for fun. Sorry for the long post...
