I ended up spending 2 nights and one full day there last week. Unfortunately, the day was spent indoors for work, but I had the evenings free. the wind on the second night was unreal, gusts in the 40-50mph range. I was glad I brought the big tripod. It was very cool to meet other folks there checking out the sunset, including non-photogs. This is the Gates Pass area, west of Tucson.

1. Moon on the first night, not a cloud in the sky:

2. tried a long exposure with a car going up the pass. kinda funny to get a lens flare from the moon at the same time.

3. wide shot of the valley facing west. didn't get to play with the rented 14-24mm as much as I would've liked.

4. sun hiding behind the clouds.
