Natural History Museum of Los Angeles has a Butterfly exhibit/tent where you can photograph and view the butterflies during the summer so our club decided to go back this year.
Big mistake was that we're there at about 2PM and the sunlight was harsh and that meant harsh shadows. So lot of my flowers were overexposed, when trying to expose for the dark butterflies. Also, they were too active due to the sunlight so they weren't landing and staying for too long. Around 4PM when the sun was a bit lower, they were slowing down and the light was better but not by that much more.
1. looks like it's standing up against the leaf.
2. soccerball eyes.
3. More soccerballing.
4. Smilie face eyes.
5.
6. We were done shooting and hanging outside by the Rose Garden, the light was finally starting get lower, so I thought I'd take a flare shot.
