Cold miner bees

Had great fun yesterday - intermittant sun and cold North wind resulted in a few miner bees getting a bit cold. The first one in this series was feeding slowly on a dandelion but as soon as I put my hand under the flower to stabilise it, it walked to the edge of the flower, down the underside and onto my hand to warm up. The second bee was on a camelia but again as soon as I put my hand near it , it walked off the leaf and onto my hand.

Phil Yes seen this happen quite a few times- still suprising how direct heat sensitive these little bees are.
