Although this is "perfect for a Canon 85/1.2", I'm pretty sure this is just a screw-on and fits any brand, so I've moved it from Canon to Kitchen Sink.

    thanks,

    thanks,

Please don't confuse this lens with a close-up filter. Let me explain:

this kind of lens is mostly used for motion picture lens , anamorphic scope filmaking (widescreen). The double element lens today produced by marumi (+2,+3,+5) and canon (500D and 250D) are the only high quality available but yet too strong. A lens like the canon 85 1.2L is the perfect candidate for this achromat double element high quality lens (not to be confused with the close up filters like you (most likely) did. They are in different worlds (talking about optics). The lens is meant to reduce the MFD maintaining the superior quality of the glass. Users of that canon 85L lens (myself included) will not be satisfied with an extension tube (10-12mm will be too strong) as well as the +1 close-ups (B+W or Heliopan, single element). non-achromat filters will be obviously out of the question for that lens.
In fact +0.5 is about perfect for the 85L , being moderate in magnification and most importantly given the superior quality of the (double) glass and coating.

in any case the lens has been sold, but just to set the records straight I needed to explain.
