They were taken handheld with the Canon 7D + 500L + 1.4x TC.

    Incredible set of images; just outstanding! The detail is phenomenal. My personal favorites are the lazuli bunting, the calliope and the violet-green swallow. thumb.gif

    Great set! clap.gif I like the first hummingbird shot most, but all are excellent.

    these are so great and illustrate exactly why I don't attempt bird photography. That turkey certainly has something on his mind...I wonder what it is?? ; )

    Harry, I switched to Canon last year after waiting and waiting for
    Sony to deliver better cameras/lenses for wildlife.
    I am very happy with the 7D + 500L combo. It's heavy but delivers
    very good results.

    Hope to see you next year in Florida.

    You were getting outstanding images with your Sony gear. Its a shame that their lens selection is so limited for wildlife photography because some of their bodies are excellent.
