It's cool, but i think you need an aditional subject in here to make it more interesting. but it could work =c)

Suggestions? I can see that the picture might be a bit literal. There are several interesting patterns, a few that are a bit awry. But, how to punch it up? an object of some sort? Should the object try to follow the spiral theme, or disrupt it? This was a snapshot, and I can pull out a better camera, look for different light, etc, too.

These stairs are at my house, so I can try out some ideas. This pict was just me seeing the form out the window, and thinking it might work as a photo (one of the things I've found really great about the challenges, that I see familiar things in a different context).

What if you blurred the background a bit to give it more drama....

    Great shot!

I find the mat distracting, so I would remove that before shooting.

I also find the white pillar on the left distracting, so I would remove that in post processing (as you likely need it to hold the roof up so I would not ask you to remove it before the shoot!).

Thanks everyone. I'll work with the post & mat. The mat, of course, I can move. The post I can't :-). Originally, I thought htat removing it post-processing would make it look like there *should* be something holding up the roof, but I'm thinking not now. It could easily be a bit further away, I guess.

I tried placing some objects on the spirals, and nothing I've tried so far is working, but I'll trying some more ideas. It's been a bit too sunny to get the smooth exposure recently, so I haven't had as much time to experiment as I'd like.

Sweet! I would play with DOF and contrast. What about placing a subject (human or cat?) on the stairs?
