PSE 8 - adding time to front of dig photo (OS x 10.6)

Hello!

I'm trying to find away to add the date & time to the 'front' of my digital photos without having to hack it in using the text option. The closest feature in PSE 8 i've found would add the DATE only to the print output (no time stamp, and it does not add the "text" to the original so it is always viewable). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

ETA - I did find a OS X friendly application that appears to add the information called Click 2 Crop, but I would prefer to find a solution that is performed within PSE to avoid having to use yet another editing program.

Try the "caption maker" option found in Dr Brown's Sercices script:

(Make sure you download the correct file for your version of Adobe Bridge/Photoshop).

EDIT: Sorry, I just remembered that you use PSE, I am not sure if a Bridge or Photoshop script can be used...

BinaryFx - Even though I can't use your suggestion due to PSE, I still appreciate the effort! Thank You!

I'm guessing this (and several other abilities) is why folks spend the extra$700 for CS

On the positive side, I found a 3rd party solution that appears to work - just requires extra steps, and a small $20 registration fee after fifteen days...

So before I pull the trigger on the 3rd party app - is anyone familiar with a < $130.00 photo editing software that is Mac OS X compatible that I should be considering instead of PSE - or - is anyone familiar enough with something like GIMP - and knows if it can be scripted to perform this task? I've found suggestions on removing date/time stamps in Gimp - but nothing to add them via a script... I'm not opposed to learning some new software - especially at that price

I am still trying to find a free or low cost GUI option for OS X.

There is an option in the venerable CLI utility "ImageMagick" -

However, being a GUI user, I am of no further help on installing or using CLI tools on OS X (or MS Windows)!
