Should I crop it?

Here is the cropped version:

I think theme-wise and composition-wise, it is perfect. Right on. I'll be just a little nit-picky and say I wish that the DOF was a little wider or that the focus on the presenting part of the pear was a little sharper.

I think you hit the composition spot-on. The pear itself doesn't grab my attention. Perhaps you could brighten the color or lighting.

    Thank you for the feed-back

You are totally right - I sent my tripod to be repaired and I handled
the camera in a little too dark environment - I'll take it again with some more light.

Thank you very much again thumb.gif

Here is the shot of a chrysanthemum, in 2 versions: rectangular and square:

You know, I actually like the rectangular flower picture including the lines. They work together for me.

I really like the first one. I think it gives your eye a chance to take it all in and then focus on the focal point of the shot.

I think you could sharpen a bit more with high pass filter. Or grab another pear and try another shot.
I like the warm of the image. It seems like one of those old oil masterpiece type images.

#1--nice tight crop and love the off center with the empty space on the left. Nicely done.

I like both the pear and the flower shots a lot! For the theme, I think the flower is stronger (rectangular). I came across some flowers like this when google image searching the golden spiral.
