The other main election news (reported by BBC TV News and others) concerned voting irregularities involving hundreds of people at many Polling Stations (PS).
•Some voters were turned away at 2200 hours as, due to a number of factors, some PS were unable to cope with the numbers of people wishing to vote.
•There were reports that the lists of registered voters had not been updated at some PS and people were, therefore, not allowed to vote.
•Some PS ran out of ballot papers.
•Some Postal Votes had not been delivered to voters on time and some had been lost.
•Some PS stayed open a few minutes beyond 2200 hours in order to allow people to vote. This appears to be illegal.
It is not yet clear whether any of these events occurred in constituencies that had been deemed to be marginal. There could be legal challenges from candidates who have fallen a few votes short of victory and the Electoral Commission has launched an investigation.
