Upload issue: "Error writing request body to server"

7:30am Sunday May 9th: We're still doing some troubleshooting and there may be lingering issues for some - stay tuned and we'll update here.



I'm trying to upload a bunch of files to a client's gallery and I'm getting repeated "Error writing request body to server" errors. I'm using smugmug's java uploader. I also got a lot of errors when I tried to use the "Send to Smug Mug" external uploader.

What's going on? Anything I can/should be doing differently on my end?

Any help would be appreciated, I'm feeling pretty frustrated right now.

    Same here - managed a few photos and then the upload fails.

    I have the same problem - only just signed up to SM as well, managed to upload 5 photos and now no go, not a good start!

    We're sorry your first experience is a bad one :( Our Ops team is on it, got them up and on it as fast as we could, 515am on Sunday.

    Sorry for the hassle please standby we'll update here when fixed.

    That Sux Bob, I'm trying to get my photos up before leaving town on business, so I am frustrated too.

    I will add that this is the first problem like this in the 3 years I've been on SM.
    Hopefully they'll get er goin fast!

    We're a 24/7 business - our help desk is 365 days a year - and we all are available 7 days a week to handle/fix any problems on the site. Operations, especially, are geared to 24/7 issues - and while it sucks for us to have to wake them at "stupid o'clock" on a Sunday morning, I have to say, our Ops guys get up and at it right away, and begin fixing things immediately - no need to travel or "go in to the office" by the way - just get to the nearest laptop and start diagnosing and fixing :)

    Thanks to all of you folks that were affected this morning, and glad we're back on track with uploading!

    Still having this issue - "Error writing request body to server" - 11 errors out of 18 files to be upload. Each time I try again, a few more make it through, but still errors on most.

    Hi guys. Recently switched from older Core2 Duo with WinXP SP3 to Core i7 with Win7 64bit, and having this same error even today. Happens all the time. I tried "Send to Smugmug" and that failed also, but the simple uploader worked for the one file I tried today.

    Any tips/ideas?
