HTML Slideshow Down

Help!

My homepage slideshow is not working. There have been no changes to the slideshow for at least a year, so it wasn't due to a change made on my end. The first slide shows (soccer portrait) and then nothing happens afterward - http://www.kevinwinzeler.com/

I realize the HTML slideshow has been replaced by Flash, but I need this format to work for iphone/ipad users.

Thanks for your help!
Kevin

The old javascript slideshow is no longer supported (and has not been for quite awhile). It does not work with images uploaded in the last 1-1/2 years, so even though you may not have changed the slideshow itself, if you changed the images that the slideshow draws from, that could have broken it.

Smugmug does not currently offer a slideshow that works on the iPad/iPhone, though I expect they are probably working on one. In the meantime, you can update to the flash slideshow and then you can redirect users that don't have flash to your portfolio page using customization #28 here.

If you're using the old slideshow - the one before the initial flash slideshow - it doesn't work with any photos that have been loaded after the key was added. So photos with an ID / Key combination can't be used. That stopped working a long time ago.

You might consider trying jfriend's customization Automatically redirect mobile users without Adobe flash to a page of your choice (like your galleries page). Link to this customization from # 28 in Collection of javascript customizations.

jfriend- Thanks for the reply. However, that is not good enough. Although you cannot upload new pictures, you can use the "replace" feature which does work. That said, I have not replaced a picture for about a year either.

I'm not interested in redirecting users. Can you take a quick look and see what the problem might be.

    Please help repair the situation.

What's not good enough? The old slideshow code doesn't work anymore. There is no way to keep it going forever.

I gave you an option that others are using. If you want something different, then ask a question that people can weigh in on.

Hi Photowinz, it's been 3+ years I think since we used that old javascript slideshow.

You can delete all that code and just use the simple homepage layout button on your homepage, and add a slideshow in seconds thumb.gif
