Roller Derby - First outside shots

Wife's roller derby team had a bout this weekend. Here are a few shots i got. It was first time shooting derby outside. Tell me what you guys think.

    First of all...welcome to Dgrin!

    #2,3,5 are too busy. The spectators blend in with the team. Look at the background in #7. See how the lady "pops" out from the rest of the shot...

    When I'm inside I always have to run 2.8 just to get enough light. I guess I should keep it open even outside to get the blur effect.

    I agree (f4 might be good) , but balance your shutter speed, -EV; cause you'll be at triple digit SS. Keep checking your histogram. Bring a CP with you for mid day

    I suggest f4 because you may want the other combatant (skater) in focus
