Java simple uploader question

I think the uploader I usually use is called the simple uploader. It uses Java. I can't tell right now because I'm in the middle of using it, and can't see the name of it anywhere. Anyway, a year or more ago it used to be easier to use, because when you clicked on the little icon showing thumbnail view, it actually gave you a thumbnail view. I used it that way a lot. But for a long time, that hasn't worked. The icon has been there, but nothing happens when you click on it. The only view I can get is the list of filenames.

Anyone know if this is a Java problem, a browser problem, or a Smug problem? I just wondered.... I use FF. I think I checked it with IE & had the same issue, but can't recall. I really miss that thumbnail view sometimes, and it's odd that the icon appears but does nothing.

Almost a year ago we vastly improved this uploader, adding error-checking, allow/skip duplicates, and a massive speed boost.

Oh, wow... I never saw that thread. Thanks for that info., Andy! I'd have never guessed there'd be a patent dispute about such a goofy thing. Sorry to hear that! But I'm really glad to know that work-around too... I hadn't figured that out on my own, and I should have. I do know that the speed is incredible now, at least to me-- I know for certain that it improved vastly back then. Ok, well, now I'll just open another window. Good to know!
